Message from Pastor Mori Dear RFUMC family Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! As we approach Mother's Day, we are filled with gratitude for the extraordinary person who have blessed our lives. The Bible reminds us of the significance of mothers and their incredible impact on our journey of faith. In Proverbs 31:28, we find these inspiring words: "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her." This verse beautifully captures the reverence and appreciation we have for our mothers. They have nurtured us, encouraged us, and guided us along the path of righteousness. In our Methodist heritage, we find a deep appreciation for family and the role of mothers in nurturing and shaping the faith of their children. John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, recognized the significant influence of mothers in guiding their families toward a life of devotion to God. He spoke of the vital role mothers play in instilling spiritual values and cultivating a deep love for Christ. During our worship service this week, we will offer prayers of thanksgiving for their selfless love and sacrifices. Let us also remember those who have gone before us, the faithful mothers who have shaped the history of our church and passed down a legacy of faith. As we honor and celebrate our mothers, let us also remember the ultimate example of love and sacrifice found in our Lord Jesus Christ. He tenderly cares for us as a mother cares for her child, providing comfort, guidance, and unfailing love. May this Mother's Day be a time of joy, gratitude, and profound appreciation for the remarkable mothers who have touched our lives. Together, let us rise up and call them blessed, offering our heartfelt praise and thanksgiving. In the love of Christ, Mori |
