Our annual Chicken Teriyaki sale will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 11am-3pm.  Half a chicken with rice and coleslaw--a real bargain at $10! We will also offer coffee and baked goods on pick-up day. You may eat in or carry out.

this is NOT our chicken! Our is much better!
Our annual conference will be held at Pheasant Run, St. Charles, Illinois,
June 8-10. This year, each district is invited to participate in giving by donating items to help those with immediate needs. This year’s theme again asks, “Who is my neighbor?” and invites us to examine our work and witness with children. This year’s collection will benefit the Midwest Mission Distribution Center in their efforts to assemble “layette” kits, which are provided to parents to welcome a new child into this world. This witness testifies to the sacred worth of every child. We are Chicago Northwestern District and our goal is 2000 baby washcloths. If you would like to contribute, please bring to church and we will bring it to Annual Conference.

We will serve the Night Ministry on June 16. We welcome your donations of time and/or money to help serve those in Chicago who are in need. Please let Pastor Linda know if you can help assemble on Sunday after church or on Monday morning.

Congratulations to our very own Enoch Kanaya. Enoch will be honored at the JASC annual benefit, Living Our Culture, on Thursday, June 12, 2014. For this year's fundraiser, they have chosen the theme Bringing Legacy to Life. We have assembled an extraordinary group of artists, activists, teachers and leaders who will share their life's work with you, exemplifying our theme of creating a "living culture." Enoch representsChuseishin (loyalty) – as a World War II 442nd vet. Col. Robert Hashimoto, USMC will also be honored in this same category. For ticket information, please contact JASC 773-275-0097.
