Dear Ravenswood Fellowship Family

We are taking seriously our call to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. One thing we are considering is preparing for the post pandemic world. To that end we are asking you to take an online survey called Readiness 360.

The Readiness 360 will help us identify opportunities for strengthening our multiplication DNA through assessing our spiritual intensity, dynamic relationships, missional alignment, and cultural openness. After a critical mass within our congregation takes the online survey, we will report back our findings and discover next steps together.

RFUMC Virtual choir for Easter

There are many ways so do what is most comfortable for you. The easiest however is probably this one:
1. Put your part/ or the piano part on itunes or whatever you use to play music. Put on a headphone (Just on one ear so you can hear yourself) so that you can hear the part and record with it! (We don't want to hear the practice track, just you, which is why you'll have the headphone on)
2. Pull up the voice memo app on your phone, I would imagine most phones regardless of maker have this.
3. Start recording on the voice memo app and then start the recording where you are playing the vocal part on your headphones.
4. Sing your heart out and keep it in tempo with the vocal part or piano part (whatever you're using)
5. Stop the recording when you are done and save the recording making sure to say what part it is! (Soprano, alto, tenor, or bass)
6. Send it to Jonathan. (NO LATER THAN March 31! )

Summer Fellow Internship program

The 47th Ward Alderman's office is excited to again partner with the Mikva Challenge for its Summer Fellows internship program, open to those ages 17-20.

As a part of the Mikva Summer Fellows program, you will be placed in a paid summer internship in the office of a city, county, state or federal lawmaker. You will work 30 hours a week for six weeks between late June and early August, and be paid $15 per hour.

In addition to working in an elected official's office, fellows will be part of a professional development cohort focused on developing work readiness skills including communication, collaboration, critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork. Fellows will meet weekly with Mikva staff to create career goals, complete workforce readiness assessments, and track their progress in the program.

Ravenswood Senior Living affordable apartments

Ravenswood Senior Living, located at 4515 N. Winchester—the site of the former Ravenswood Hospital, will be available for occupancy this fall. Seniors 62 and older with incomes below $51,000 (1 person) or $58,250 (2 persons) will be eligible for independent living in the 1-bedroom apartments. Rents will be based on 30% of the tenant's income. Additional eligibility requirements and admission preferences will apply according to Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) policies. The building is managed by Evergreen Real Estate Services and CHA is handling tenant selection.

Choose the Project Based Voucher (PBV) option
Select Lincoln Square as the community area
Select Ravenswood senior housing

If you already have an application on file with CHA but now wish to select this property as your preference, you must update your application online selecting Ravenswood senior housing.
