Easter Sunday

Ravenswood Fellowship United Methodist Church

The Weekly Newsletter

   Message from Pastor Mori

Dera RFUMC family

Resurrection Greetings!

Here we are again at that beautiful time of year we know as Easter. Many have rightly called it Resurrection Sunday because that gets our focus more on the amazing event that took place on that day so I wanted to take a moment to send you some "Easter Encouragement"!
We all want to get back to "normal" as soon as possible for sure! Yet, "normal" can be different for everyone. Someone said for them, "normal is just a setting on their dryer."
Jesus Christ rose from the grave!
Jesus came to this earth over 2,000 years ago, and His life could be described as anything BUT "normal." He spent about three years in active ministry serving others, loving others, healing others, and yet, He died the cruelest of deaths as they hung Him on a cross.
Yet, as you know, that was not the end of the story as three days later, He arose in tremendous victory over death!
Regardless of what happens in this world this year, or the next, Jesus has already been there!
He knows about our needs and cares for us with perfect love.
One of my favorite portions of scripture is the following:
John 14:19 CEB 19 Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Because I live, you will live too.

That scripture reminds me of another powerful song written by Bill Gaither with the title "Because He Lives," and the lyrics are as follows:
"Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone,
Because I know, He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!"
I would encourage you today to keep your eyes on Jesus as you move through this journey of life.
Jesus is victorious still!
Blessings in Christ,

Pastor Mori O
