Ravenswood Fellowship United Methodist Church The Weekly Newsletter    Message from Pastor Mori Dear Ravenswood Fellowship UMC family   Happy Summer days!    Thanks to God for a wonderful outside in-person worship. During the past six weeks we have had nice weather and most of our seats full.   This week we will have an ice cream social time after the worship service at the Japanese Garden. Rev. Cody and Tatum have prepared delicious ice cream and the young adult group will be serving the ice cream. We invite you to join our ice cream social. So please come and enjoy this ice cream social time.    And after the ice cream social, Rev. Cody will lead the young adult group meeting to begin their summer/fall ministry. The topic will be LGBTQ+ community and Anti-Racism ministry with our neighbors and community. We are excited to share these ministry ideas with the young adult group. After we decide together as a group what we want to do, than we will share details of the ministry plan and dates with all the congregation.    Again, thank you all for preparing the Japanese Garden for worship and your prayers for the worship. A special thanks to Debbie who has come to the garden every Sunday by 9:00 to help set up. Also, Jonathan who praises God in the wild environment and even with birds singing and wind blowing he gives us beautiful music all the time. And to Donna who takes care of the Zoom presentation and chat box link sharing. And, last but not least, my husband Joe who sets up the heavy worship equipment and electric piano without any complaint!! Thank you.   Beginning in July we will be back to our sanctuary. We will still need to wear masks and we will need to maintain social distance for the sake of health. But the good news: there is no need to sign-up for attendance because we don't need to worry about rain anymore!    Please join our worship in the sanctuary on July 4, and volunteer to help clean on Saturday, July 3, from 9:30-11:30 AM.     I hope everyone has a wonderful summer day. This is the work of discipleship and spiritual formation.To read more here                         The NIC Anti-Racism Task Force is organizing a DIY Rally Against Racism event in a show of unity around the Annual Conference in July. When? Sunday, July 18, 2021, or any time during Annual Conference weekend, July 16-18, 2021, or any time during Summer 2021. Where? Each local church may decide where to hold a rally that will have maximum visibility.  Churches are encouraged to register their event and post photos on social media with hashtag #rallyagainstracism. Click here for more details. This Sunday after worship we will have an ice cream social! Rev. Cody and Tatum have donated delicious ice cream. Thank you for their sweet hearts !       From Sunday, July 04, we will joyfully return to the sanctuary for Sunday worship. As we return to in person worship, we will continue to worship online using Zoom. We have scheduled a time to clean the sanctuary. Please join us for cleaning on July 03 Saturday 9:30-11:30 AM.                                        The office will be operating on the following schedule: Monday:        Closed Tuesday:       9:30 am - 12:30 pm  Wednesday:  9:30 am - 12:30 pm Thursday       9:30 am - 12:30 pm  Friday:           9:30 am - 12:30 pm   Voicemails and e-mails will be checked so please feel free to leave a message for Pastor Mori or the office staff at any time.                                             Please sign up for reading the scripture during worship in July and August.
