Message from Pastor Mori Dear Ravenswood Fellowship family, The start of the new school year is an exciting and delightful time for many of us. I read an article that said the end of August is often the beginning of anxiety for some parents. Especially, today when the COVID-19 rate is rocketing high again and variant versions of the virus are breaking out, some schools and universities are open for in-person study while others remain online or hybrid. So, if you are a parent who is experiencing a little extra stress at the beginning of a new school year, you are not alone. In fact, your feeling is more common than you may think! According to a survey from Kiddie Academy -an educational childcare center, when all members of the family are polled, 63 percent said that the hardest time was the first day of school. We live with a lot of unknowns, and we want our students to be healthy and happy. So, what can we do? We can pray to God. Pray for student's safety and their school years, we can pray for the strength, courage, and hope. So, this week, we plan a time for pray for student and their family. This week, Deaconess Catherine Inserra will join us and pray to God. She will deliver the sermon and update us on her ministry at Kids Above All. After worship, we will gather outside of church building on Hermitage to have a Backpack Blessing Prayer. I hope many students join us for the Backpack Blessing prayer and celebrate the new school year and explore what it means to be a blessing to others during this hard time in our world! Also, I deeply thank you everyone who sending school supply donations for the Kids Above All "Backpack Drive" ministry. We received twice the donations compared to last year!! We will give our donations to Catherine after the blessing. Thank you so much! Blessings MORI |
