Ravenswood Fellowship United Methodist Church The Weekly Newsletter    Message from Pastor Mori   Dear RFUMC Family,  When I googled "Chicago Pride Parade," it says "Chicago's Pride Parade is one of the largest, by attendance, in the world. This event is taken place outside and celebrates Equal Rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people. Also known as the celebration of LGBTQ Rights."    This year is the 51st annual Chicago Pride Parade. This is a remarkable year because this is first year that Ravenswood Fellowship will participate with The Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches. This year our theme is "Embracing All and Loving Boldly."    I am very excited that we will be marching together. I believe change is possible through our faith and actions. The Pride parade has been sending a strong message of inclusiveness and it spreads the message of LGBTQ rights. This is about human rights and empowering each other. God created us in God's image, and we all are beloved Children of God. No one has to the right to oppress a person because of their sexual orientation and gender identity.      And this Sunday at the Pride Sunday we will march and share God's love for everyone.I hope many of you will walk with us and celebrate our diversity.    If you consider joining us it is not late, please let me know rfumcpastormori@gmail.com   Let's Embrace Everyone and Love Boldly!!    See you all on Sunday.    Blessings MORI          Give on PayPal   Community Info & Links                 Worship service begins at 10:00 am  Sunday June 26th! Chicago Pride Parade  In order to accommodate our participation in the Chicago Pride Parade, we will begin worship service a bit earlier, at 10:00 am. and will commence by 11:00am.  Following worship service, please gather outside at our church sign on the corner for a group picture.  All are invited to be in our group picture  Those who will participate in the parade will depart immediately following. July 31 North Co-op Vote Day On Sunday July 31st, we will have a North Side Co-op conversation.  Please join us if you are able.  Please bring any questions you may have and we will try our best to obtain the answers.  Following the discussion, we will vote on whether to join the co-op.   Choir  Summer Season Vacation     The choir will be on summer break!  Heartfelt thanks to all the members of the choir.  We have enjoyed hearing the beautiful voices and music.  Many thanks to Jonathan for leading the choir.  We appreciate Jonathan's continuous music and vocals throughout the years and especially when we could not have in-person worship; his dedication and support has always kept us together, even when we were actually apart. No Yoga Class on June 25  This coming Saturday, June 25, both Vitality Yoga classes are cancelled and   will resume on July 2.  Scripture Reader Sign-ups  Would you like to participate in worship service by being a scripture reader?  If so, please sign up by clicking  here  Thanks for assisting in worship!   Coffee Hour Sign-ups  We have begun to have a light coffee hour following worship service on the first and third Sunday's each month.  If you would like to sign up for a coffee hour (bring a light snack and serve beverages) please sign up by clicking here                      Backpack Drive (July 01-Aug 14)  BackPack Blessing with Catherine Inserra will take place on Sunday Aug 14.   We are starting earlier this year because school will begin earlier.
