Ravenswood Fellowship United Methodist Church The Weekly Newsletter    Message from Pastor Mori Dear Ravenswood Fellowship Family, This is a special time for us to reflect on the past year and to look forward to our mission in the year to come. I also want to thank the leaders, members, and friends that have supported Ravenswood Fellowship Church in 2020. As a new pastor, this past year has been a blessing in that I was able to start a new ministry. I truly appreciate your continued prayers, financial support, and strong faith.    Without your prayer and support, we would not have been able to begin new ministries such as our Japanese Garden prayer meeting or the various Bible studies and conversation groups that we have enjoyed!  I have not yet had a chance to meet you all, but I feel your love and support every week. From you, I have learned that church is not simply a building, but rather, church is a family who cares for and helps each other.  We have had such a hard year in 2020. As a community, we went through 2020 together, and now we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. This season when some of you are alone, or ill, or stressed, I want to encourage you to look to God's helping hand.  As we move into the new year, let us give thanks to the Lord for the blessings we have received and shared with one another, strengthening our walk with God as well as our brothers and sisters in Christ. There are so many wonderful things on the horizon this coming year and I am honored to have the opportunity to experience them with all of you!    Be blessed. Inspire giving with the help of a Pastor and Leaders' Kit, which includes worship resources, devotional podcasts, videos, social media images, and more. Click here for more information.                                         Weekly Sermon Phone Service                                         If you do not have computer access or cannot access our Sunday worship service through a smart phone, we now have a sermon by phone service, which is available at any time!  The phone number is (773) 219-0861.  You can listen to a recent version of Pastor Mori'ss Sunday sermon and it's free!   Obachan's (Japanese Grandma) Daidokoro (Kitchen)  おばあちゃん の 台所 Holiday Fudge 4 bars German sweet chocolate  1 can Eagle sweetened condensed milk 1tsp. Vanilla  1/2 C. Walnuts  Melt the chocolate carefully in a heavy pan. Remove from stove. Add the milk. Mix vigorously. Add vanilla and walnuts. Mix again until smooth. Pour into a foil-lined 8-inch square pan. Chill in the refrigerator for several hours.
